The Family Child Care Advisory Council was formed in January 2019 through a generous grant from Vanguard’s Strong Start for Kids program.  The Family Child Care Advisory Council was originally comprised of 23 family & group educators that worked to create a peer networking structure designed to support the unique needs of their programs.  Several early childhood community partners identified twenty-five leaders recognized as STAR 3 and STAR 4 family and group educators that would launch this initiative.
Twenty-three educators accepted the invitation and began diligently working to establish the framework for what is now known as the Family Child Care Advisory Council. On March 24, 2022, the Family Child Care Advisory Council officially became a self-sustaining, self-governing 501c3 non-profit organization and through the organization’s workgroups, these leaders continue to prioritize the unique needs of
home-based childcare professionals.

To provide a standard of excellence in peer networking to Family Child Care Educators to enhance their level of professionalism.
To promote leadership development and collaboration among all Home-based Early Childhood Education professionals while educating our communities and local and state officials about the benefits of Home-based childcare programs.

We strive to raise the caliber of Family Child Care Educators to the highest possible standards. Our goal is to collaborate with local, state, and national early childhood organizations that promote high-quality standards.
